Wat gebeurt er als dertig mensen – met uiteenlopende leeftijden, achtergronden en lichamen – samenkomen om één verhaal te belichamen? Dan ontstaat SIMURGH: een ontroerende en muzikale dansvoorstelling waarin diversiteit, samenzijn en verbeelding centraal staan.
Voor het internationale schrit_tmacher Festival creëerde DIK Danstheater samen met Codarts Rotterdam, ARTbewegt en de Parzival-Schule een meeslepende community-art productie, geïnspireerd op het eeuwenoude Perzische gedicht The Conference of the Birds. Een zoektocht naar een mythische vogel blijkt uiteindelijk een ontdekkingstocht naar jezelf én elkaar.
SIMURGH werd eind maart 2025 opgevoerd in het Ludwig Forum in Aken (28 maart) en in de Limburgzaal van Theater Heerlen (29 maart). De voorstelling barstte van energie, live muziek, kwetsbaarheid én kracht. Zoals Tanzweb het omschreef:

What happens when thirty people – of different ages, backgrounds, and bodies – come together to embody one story? The result is SIMURGH: a moving, musical dance performance centered on diversity, togetherness, and imagination.
Created for the international schrit_tmacher Festival, DIK Danstheater collaborated with Codarts Rotterdam, ARTbewegt, and the Parzival School to develop this compelling community art production, inspired by the ancient Persian poem The Conference of the Birds. A mythical journey in search of a legendary bird transforms into a collective discovery of self and one another.
SIMURGH was performed at the end of March 2025 at the Ludwig Forum in Aachen (March 28) and the Limburgzaal of Theater Heerlen (March 29). The performance radiated energy, live music, vulnerability, and strength. As Tanzweb described it:
